This article assumes your environment has a working Microsoft Exchange Server. Open Outlook; Click the Contact Search button in the ribbon at the top. (You can also use the address book icon when composing an email); Make sure either All Folders or 'Account Name' Directory is. Note: In Outlook 2010 and 2013, you can also find out the Download Address Book command with clicking the File Info Account Settings Download Address Book. Step 2: In the popping up Offline Address Book dialog box, click the Choose address book box and select the address book you will download, and then click the OK button.

The Global Address List (GAL) contains the names and email addresses of everyone who uses an Exchange email account at UVic. It also includes a listing of some conference rooms and global distribution lists.
Update Outlook Global Address List
- To access the Global Address List, click on Contacts.
- Type directly into the Find a Contact field or click on Contacts Search. Both of these options will open a new window. From the drop-down menus, select Search All Fields in Default Global Address List, then type a name into the search field. The list will automatically populate from the information you've entered.
- Once you've found the person or department you're looking for, you check the box beside the name or title, then select New E-mail to compose an email to that address or New Meeting to create a new meeting involving that person.
